My Favorite Day Of The Week!

Is day five.  Every fifth day you get a mystery box in The Simpsons Tapped Out.  This one is in a town I just started on my old phone.  How ridiculous,  I am now playing two games of Tapped Out at the same time.  But now I have 2 day fives every week...  MORE MYSTERY BOXES... Come on Squeaky Voiced Teen, I need you in my new game.

Tapped Out Donuts

I went to town with gift cards and bought a bunch of donuts in Tapped Out last week.

BumbleBee Man and Otto are awesome.  Kearny is worth it for his Dance a Jig task alone.  DuffMan is kind of boring.  I was looking forward to all these guys, but...

MoleMan turned out to be the funniest of all of them.  

Now a new update just came out with all the Krusty Land things right after I used up all my gift cards.  Oh well.  I guess I just have to earn some more.

My favorite app sometimes is...

Vine.

And I suck at it.  But the people who don't suck at it make me enjoy and open the app every few days just to see what they are doing.

Vine is free.  I would like to complain about how slow it is a lot of the time, but it is still kind of new and free.  I hope they correct that a little before a competitor comes along and does it faster.  Other than that it is an awesome app.  Maybe I should go work on making an entertaining vine now...

Okay, Lets go. This is a similar photo to those below, taken with the iPhone 5 camera for reference.

Lucifer VI Lens and Alfred Infrared Film or Pistil Film

Kind of red and evil looking.  I put 2 films so you can decide on how much red.  Alfred for a lot, Pistil for a little.  Pistil is a cool film for almost any lens.  I use this on occasion, one of my favorite pictures of a flower was taken with the Lucifer / Pistil combo.

Americana Lens and Blanko Freedom13

Americana ads a little random blur, usually good to the image.  The Freedom13 film is as close to borderless at you get in Hipstamatic.  The only thing on the edge of the film are 3 little red white and blue bars in the lower right corner.  I use this film a lot for pics of the ocean.

Tejas Lens and Blanko Film

The Tejas ads the vignette you see in the example.  The Blanko is a nice simple film with good contrast and a plain white border.  The Tejas less was my favorite for a while, because of the vignette, I thought of it as a calmer John S Lens that was also my favorite for a while.

The combinations I picked this time are some of the weirder ones I use.  They definitely aren't for super important things, they are cool weird effects for when you are just having fun or want some randomness.

Watts Lens and GS-0 Film.

It's a circle!  The Watts Lens makes the colors nice and vibrant.  The GS-0 film, that was a promotion for a movie called Gangster Squad, makes the border be a circle so all you see is the center if on a white background.  Fun looking pics.  A must for one or two pics in your Instagram feed because the white border blends in with Instagram's white background so it looks like the photo is just the circle.


Jane Lens and D-Type Film

The Jane lens doesn't do anything weird.  The D-Type does a lot of weird.  It is a black and white film with a lot of messyness.  Some blur and grunge look cool on a photo once in a while.  This film does exactly that.



Alder 9009 Lens and Dylan Film

The Dylan Film gives a semi random light leak most of the time.  The Alder desaturates the rest of the photo making the light leak really stand out.  Looks cool on occasion, take a bunch to make sure you get the right leak.  Sometimes the leak overshadows your subject though.

The Simpsons, Tapped Out Friend Codes

The Origin username in The Simpsons Tapped Out let you visit other players version of Springfield and make fun of them if they don't have the squidport yet!  Now there are no more snakes to put in each others towns it is much less scary.  Try it!

Also, the donuts are too expensive for how much the premium things cost so I am refusing to pay real money for them.  I am now vowing to use my next FreeMyApps gift card to buy some donuts and get the Springfield Tire Fire.  Or the Duff Brewery. Or the Community Center so I can get that old guy that is not Grandpa or Hans Moleman...  I need a lot of gift cards.

App Review - Toca Hair Salon

This app popped up on FreeMyApps recently.  I had seen it on the top lists in the iTunes App Store for a while and it looked like the last thing I would ever enjoy.
But I gave it a shot.  It is really funny.  I will not ever list this as my favorite app, but I did tell my girlfriend to download it and play with it because it made me laugh.  That is pretty high praise from me because she doesn't download a bunch of apps so I only tell her if i think something is pretty amusing.  Anyway, for freemyapps you play the game for 30 seconds.  With this app, the first time I opened it I spent about 15 minutes shaving all the characters heads then giving them mohawks.
As silly as the premise sounds, give it a shot, the controls are good and it is pretty fun for a while.

Annnnnnnnd... If you want to get free apps from FreeMyApps and play them for a little while you will get points.  The points can be traded in for iTunes or Amazon gift cards.  They don't build up super fast, but faster than I expected.  It took me about a week or week and a half of checking most days and playing for ten minutes or so to get $10.  But it is a free $10 for playing around with some apps, something I would do anyway.  If you have some time, give it a shot.
